Modern Day Campaign

Okay the first few posts are to get everyone together. I am going to start. I will give ideas on how to bring in characters. I will not dictate how someone comes in. I would like them to be somewhat logical tho. You can take your cue from me, but I will give some ideas about what is going on. After my next post there are going to be rumors of an ET in South America. To be more specific Brasilia, Brazil. Also civil war is starting to break out in many different countries as people try to figure out what to do. Basically if something isn't done about theses creatures the whole world could destroy itself. The best lead anyone has is the ET. If you want something more we can talk about it.

"I am running low on fuel Commander. Since my relief is headed this way can I come back?" Asked Sniper

"Thats an affirmative Sniper. I don't want to have to come out and get you." Replied the commander.

"Roger that. Heading your way now." Replied Sniper

As he is making his way back to the ship he see a bright light that engulfs the ship. When it disappears he is above Earth, and no command ship.

"Computer what just happened?" Asked Sniper

"It appears that we have just crossed into a different dimension. I am not detecting any signs of space travel. It appears that either this is an alternate dimension or the past I can not tell. With the fuel that we have we are going to need to put down in South America." said the computer.

"Okay well then lets head down there, and see what we can find out." As he begins a decent into the atmosphere.

After landing in a small clearing he pulls a motorcycle out of the back and heads out. After a while he comes up on the outskirts of a city. All of a suddenly a kid jumps out in front of him. He pulls hard to the right, losses control, and slides down the street.

"AHHH Someones had an accident." Yells a women standing by the street.

"I will take him to the witch. Maybe she can help him." Says a man next to her.

He loads him, and whats left of his bike, and heads out toward the local healer. In all his haste he dosen't realise that he is covered in green blood.

Pyrn Aer was busy in her Herb Garden when a local man pulled up in front of her small hut. She rose from what she was doing and walked over to greet him. She spoke in the local dialect. "What's the matter?" The locals never came to her unless they needed healing, cursing, or a love postion, or other such nonsense. The only thing that was genuine was the healing. And she made sure to tell those who came for something else just that.

"This man, he have an accident."

She gave a nod. "Take him inside. I will tend him." When the man got the wounded in, he made a hasty departure. She didn't mind, and was used to that kind of behavior, besides she was already busy working on her patient. She pulled back as she realized his blood wasn't red. She frowned as she looked him over.

She gave a sigh as her healing insticts took over. She puttered around mixing various herb and other concoctions and tended him. Hoping the hole time that the cure didn't end up killing instead of healing.

Rolling over on to his side her looks around. "What happened? I feel like I just got run over by a semi, and where am I? Who are you?"

Pulling a small bag out out of a concealed pocket he dumps a couple of weird seeds into his hand and swallows them.

"Just give me a couple of minutes and I will be fine." He says as he goes back to being on his back.

Pyrn pauses as he moves and starts speaking. She raises a brow at him and just watches him until he settles back. "I don't know what happened to you, you were brought to me hurt. You are in Brasilia, Brazil. I am Pyrn Aer, the local Healer, Witch Woman, whatever name you wish to give me." She watched him closely.

"Ahh so I am in South America? Well it confirms that I am on Earth now what year is this? My name is Sniper if I had another I do not remember it anymore. I heal rather quickly. It is because I am invid. Not really sure what is going on, but I can sense there is something wrong here. It is like a darkness has covered the light. Something isn't right." He tells Pyrn.

Pyrn looks at him puzzled. "Invid? What exactly is that? And it is 2008, for the year." She sighed and left him be, instead puttering around making a meal. "Do you eat, Invid?"

"2008 that would be almost 15 years ago. Invid how to explain..... We are not alone in the universe. Some aliens experimented on me, and turned me into one of them, and yes I do eat." Sniper says as he sits up, and looks around.

Pyrn looked at him with a raised brow. "Well, I'm a Drow living amongst humans, how much wierder can you be?" She brought him a plate of stew. "Eat up, no matter what you are, food will help."

"I have never heard of a Drow before. Then again this world seems to be differnt then where I come from. This must be an alternate realty. Here pretty soon I need to get back to my ship so that I can make sure nobody has messed with it. Thank You for the food." He says as he starts eating with a healthy appitette.

Pyrn gave a shrug as she watched him eat. "I'm not from around here originally either." She went to clean up. "Well, soon as you're fit, you're welcome to leave. I keep no one against their will."

"Do you know what is going on here? Something doesn't feel right here. I don't know how to explain it, but it feels like there is a shadow looming over my shoulder. I wonder if my ships computer might be able to tell me something." Sniper says as he gets up, and stretches.

Swiftwind and Mudwolf come to a screeching halt atop their animal friends, Whitelightning and Racer. Mudwolf strokes Racers head, what in the name of the High-Ones was that Swifty?"

Swiftwind shakes his head and says "I dunno Muddy, but I bet you my drinking bag of your Dreamberry wine we aren't anywhere near MY holt anymore." As he starts sniffing around in the air to try to catch a familiar scent.

Mudwolf looks wryly at Swiftwind, "Your probably right so I guess you get to keep you drinking bag of it." Looking around he sees nothing that he recognizes. "Lets scout the area and see if we can find that doorway."

Pyrn looked at Sniper in confussion. "I feel nothing, but that could be because I've lived here for for about a hundered and fifty years now. I've aclimated."

Modeas was in a new city. She'd successfully completed an assignment in her last city, and there was nothing else for jobs there, so she'd moved on. Now she was trying to find where she might find a bounty hunting job... or something.

Suddenly out of no where you see the above character pop out the air. He looks both Sniper, and pyrn over. "You are probably wondering what is happening around the world. I can tell you that. That alien ship that crashed here carried with it I an ancient artifact. In the hands of someone good it can heal almost any injury. In the hands of someone evil it can twist life into a shadow. A perversion of nature. I need you and a couple others to go after it. If it isn't recovered soon it could be the end of the world as you know it. It will be a world ruled by shadows where nothing lives. The reason why I chose you two is because I can sense in you the spark that will allow you to use this artifact to undo what has been done. There are three others that will accompany you. One will appear when she wishes for you to see her, and the other two you will meet near where you must go."

Snipper looking over at him with a raised eye brow. "And who are you? And what is in it for me?"

Looking back at snipper the figure says "I am god. I am not allowed to directly interfere so I need you. As far as you I can offer you a way home. For her I know she doesn't want anything for herself, but I offer you a clinic where you can better help people."

Pyrn looked the creature over that suddenly appeared. She raised a brow as it spoke. At Sniper's words she looked at him, then the creature as he was told he could get home. She blinked when the creature offered a clink for her to work in. She blinked again as it absorbed in. She gave a shrug. "Very well then. I'm in."

"Very well you must go to Suffolk, England. There is a forest near there that you will meet two others. I must warn you that they are different from you two. They do not know what technology is. They come from a different place that is stuck in the middle ages." He then disappears the same way appears.

"Very well I will go as well. If you can get me home then I will do what must be done." Says
Sniper. "I have a way for us to get there. Now where did that old man go? I am ready whenever you are."

Swiftwind and Mudwolf continue searching the woods when they come to strip where there are no trees and start looking around. They notice that the ground has turned black with a funny yellow line going down the center of the strip. "Muddy? what can this be. I have nothing like this at home." They start searching the ground for some sort of clue as to what it is. "I dunno, never seen anything like this. I don't know if even the high ones could tell us what these markings mean."

They start following the trail of yellow when they see a wall loom up before them. "We might be able to find something out if we follow the wall."swiftwind said to mudwolf.

"There still hasn't been any sign of that doorway. Lets take it slow along this wall, after all we don't know what we will find on the other side." cautioned Mudwolf.

Pyrn nodded at Sniper. "Very well. Let me gather a few things." She putters around filling an old adventures backpack she hadn't used in several decades. Surprisingly it was still in good shape. Soon she had things gatnereed and an old bedrool attatched to the bottom of the pack. She turns to Sniper. "When ever you are ready. Lead the way."

"Since I don't know the area very well maybe you should lead. I have my stuff in a clearing just north of town." Sniper says as he heads for the door.

Swiftwind and Mudwolf follow the wall down the path a little ways and start hearing noises from the otherside. "I have never heard anything like that noise what do you think it could be? asks Swiftwind as he looks to Mudwolf. Mudwolf listens to the noise as it intensifies from the other side of the wall. "I dunno. But it sounds big whatever it is. Maybe we should try and jump over the wall. There is a tree i am sure that Whitelightning and Racer could get up in and jump over," he says as he points to a tree a few strides away from them.

Swiftwind and Whitelightning go up on the lowest branches then jump over to the next ones a little higher up. Muddy and racer follow in suit and they work thier way slowly to just above the walls height. What they see on the other side of the wall is a larger path of the black stuff. 10 wolves standing nose to tail wouldn't be enough to cross the shortest distance of the path. They also see a few buildings that look like half circles.

"This is not elf made. What can those funny looking things there be?" Swifty said as he was poining towards a few fighter jet and a large helocopter.
"They don't look safe to me whatever they are. I suppose we should try to not be noticed by whatever creatures might be lurking around in there. Lets get back down the tree and continue further along the wall, I think i see a place where we might get in." As muddy said that last one of the f-16s that were on the tarmack light its enigines and started moving quickly down the strip. the 2 friends stood dumbfounded by what they just saw and couldn't say anything.

As Swiftwind, and Mudwolf are standing there they see a couple of f14's headed there way. From somewhere behind them they hear the roar of a strange creature.

She gave a nod and headed out the door. Throwing her stuff into the back of an old military jeep she hopped in the driver's side. "Climb in." SHe started it up while she waited for him to get in.

Sniper jumps into the passenger seat, and buckles up. "Have you ever been in a plane?" He asks pyrn as they set off.
